Embryos

Stacking genetics of the best producing animals in the industry is the most proven way to improve your herd in the shortest time frame. Our Embryo Transfer (ET) program is designed with stacked genetics as the primary driver in our decision process. By utilizing the most elite bulls and combining them with some of the best producing cows in the industry, Buffalo Gap Longhorns is producing heifer calves with powerfully stacked pedigrees that promise the results we are looking for; horn and color.

Our featured cow is RC My Maria (Hubbell’s Jeremiah x RC Lacey K). My Maria measures 88.5” TTT at 3 years 1 month. Her total horn was 95.5” on her 3rd birthday. She swept her class at the Horn Showcase this year. Dalgood has her projected to be 105” TTT at maturity. We have successfully placed 2 Hubbell’s 20 Gauge heifer sexed embryos that will be due in August 2025. She will be IVF’d again in spring 2025 with an as yet undetermined bull.

RC Pacific Mermaid

RC Pacific Mermaid is arguably one of the best producing cows in longhorn history. We have built much of our herd around her genetics. Mermaid was the second cow to produce three over 90” TTT offspring, and she now has 4 over 90” and one over 100”. We have retained five of her descendants in our herd.

Sires

Hubbell's 20 Gauge

Two time Bull of the Year, Hubbell’s 20 Gauge, is the selected sire for our first embryos from RC My Maria. He brings strength of pedigree, size, color, confirmation, and horn all contributing to the genetics of My Maria.

Rebel HR

Rebel HR, was TLBAA Ultimate Bull of the Year. Black and white roan spotted with 88.5” TTT who out produces himself time after time. His progeny are knockouts.

We know where we are going over the next three years, and we invite you to join us as we produce great calves from great longhorns.
